According to my horoscope, the more people I meet, the higher are my chances at finding romance. Jo said even she knows that & ask me why am I still reading this junk ...lol.. ? One because I'm free , two because it's quite funny at times.
Of course I don't 'believe' what they said for real. I know no one has a crystal ball somewhere & can predict the future. It's all a bunch of common sense, so it'll sound right to anyone reading.
Back to my horoscope, Well I've not dated for a while, so I guess it means I should go for the house warming of one of our colleague's tomorrow night. Hoping to meet some new people, as my horoscope suggested. Horoscope also advice " to be extra careful with spending until the month is over" ...good excuse to buy a smaller gift I suppose ...lol..
Jo said I'm a cheapo & ask me are there other excuses in her horoscope as well ...lol... For hers it's ' spend wisely as your financial situation for the coming months are uncertain !" Hmmm... a perfect excuse for her to buy a even smaller house warming gift.
Perfect!
See, horoscopes are useful.... sometimes :))
I lost weight with Garbaslim, Panbesy, duromine & the Vitamin D jab. Also did the BTL Vanquish treatment. Some thoughts about the financial world, the perfect investments ; a host of other things.

The perfect investment! Investments that never fails !
Some people can be over enthusiastic & naive about investments. This is what we call a deadly combo. Your banker can sell you any financial products but you don't have to say yes all the time. You don't have to feel bad saying no to them. They are big boys & girls & they are well trained to accept 'NO' in fact they prefer you say no, when you don't quite understand or you really mean 'no'.
This happened to my friend. She was referred a new client by someone. Her mistake was she didn't check her out properly. Because it's a referral & because the client looked & sounded financially savvy. Introduce her to a number of bonds, client bought the bonds & now she's complaining that my friend pushed her to buy something she's not familiar with.
My friend would be fine, cos' the client has signed all kinds of documents proving she understood everything. The problem is, the client knows some big shot in the company & they are breathing down my friend's neck! I guess this is common. It can happen to anyone in every field, in different variations of course.
My friend was so upset & I've been trying to console her. She wanted to quit. "Not worth it!!! " she said. I think, she'll end up migrating to another bank. Why not, if the culture of the company is so quick to blame, it's better to leave. But then again, there's no perfect situation or workplace. Every company has it's own shit I suppose!

I Need to take Panbesy & GarbaSlim again to lose some weight !
Meant to visit Dr Keith for some Garbaslim fat burner last month. Was very busy at work & with a blink of an eye, a month has passed. And guess what happened ? I've put on another extra 2-3kg since then! I wish my bank account grows in this pace !!! That's the result of one class gathering (a buffet), one wedding and weekend makan sessions with family since my brother came back from HKG - all within a month.
Very desperate. I've no time to exercise. I am just too lazy to put on my yoga gear. & go for my class. Besides I'm too fat to look cute in them anymore! So I've not enroll for any more classes ....
Last week there's some free time so I go to look for Dr Keith. My go-to doctor for any weight related issues. Dr Keith has a very good memory. I've not seen him in ages. And he remember everything about me, which is nice. Told him about my trip & how it kick start my weight gain ...sob ...sob...
This time I just bought 1 month supply of panbesy, 2 months of garbaslim & a couple of pills for water retention. He said that's enough for me. Before I leave, he reminded me to enroll for my yoga class again ...haha..
One week later, I have lost 2kg. Today I'm going for my yoga class after work 😝
If you are interested ,here's the weight loss clinic details:

Freaking fat cells seem to have eternal life !!!
I was looking at myself through my full sized mirror today & realized I have put on a little weight. Was it the vacation I just had? That's the trouble with going on a group tour. They are always feeding you. Breakfast ,lunch & dinner, all on the dot. And there's always excess food, it's as if they are afraid you'll complain. It almost feel like force feeding. Not that anyone is complaining. In fact if there's any lesser food, the tour guide would be in trouble ...haha... It's interesting, people really do count how many dishes there's during each meal. If there's even a suspicion of a missing dish, they'll quickly highlight that to the tour agent! Very interesting!!!
So, my skirt feels tighter today. My face rounder ....urgh ...... My freaking fat cells is not going anywhere! Think I've to visit my Dr again for some Garbaslim -that's my "go-to" fat burner.

I'm not going to pop these skin color abnormalities into my mouth. We all agree & went on to the next fruit at the counter with our commentries ....lol...

Should you be investing in Bitcoin? Some things you should know about bitcoin.
It's no secret, Bitcoin is the latest craze.
Bitcoin uses blockchain technology to record its transactions. It's a publicly distributed ledger for certain financial transactions. It is currently mostly used for bitcoin, but many believe it could be used in a wide variety of financial applications in the future.
The benefits of this system are that it is transparent, secure, and streamlined, so that there are less parties involved in facilitating each and every transaction. Even as the existing payments system becomes ever more convenient and secure, the space is still littered with middle parties taking a small amount from each transaction. These players include payment processors, payment networks, issuing banks, and acquiring banks. The dream of bitcoin and other monetary systems based on blockchain technology is for payers to be free of these inherent costs of exchanging currency for goods.
Second, bitcoins are not traded on Wall Street. They cannot be bought or sold through a brokerage. Instead, one must set up a bitcoin "wallet," something like a bank account exclusively for bitcoins. Once this account is set up, its holder can link to a traditional banking account and use those funds in local currency to buy and sell bitcoins. This means bitcoin is much less liquid than traditional equities, creating more volatility and wild swings. For instance, in the past month alone, the value of one bitcoin fell from prices over $2,500 to under $2,000 before regaining all-time highs over $3,400. Those are incredibly volatile swings within one month -- something virtually unheard of with any other type of currency!
Finally, the unique way of buying and selling bitcoins not only contributes to its less liquid nature, but has also contributed to higher rates of fraud and theft through uninsured bitcoin exchanges. Also, one should note that none of the bitcoin exchanges have yet established a long business track record.
If friends wanted to purchase a small, speculative position in bitcoin, I wouldn't try to talk them out of it. However -- and I cannot stress this enough -- nothing should be invested in bitcoin currency that an investor isn't comfortable losing.
What is bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a digital payment system with no intermediaries or banks; it was invented by a person or group using the alias Satoshi Nakamoto, and released as open-source software in 2009. The U.S. Treasury has categorized it as a decentralized virtual currency though some believe it is best described as a "cryptocurrency."- "a digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank."Bitcoin uses blockchain technology to record its transactions.
The potential problems with investing in bitcoin
First, it is not backed or regulated by the government or other entity. This stands in stark contrast to all other forms of currency used around the globe. So, many people view bitcoin as something akin to Monopoly money, because it is neither a fiat currency nor is it based on something of tangible value like gold. In other words, a bitcoin is worth exactly what people perceive its worth to be. While, in a sense, this is true of any currency, the value of a bitcoin is much more fickle than other forms of currency because of its unregulated nature.Second, bitcoins are not traded on Wall Street. Finally, the unique way of buying and selling bitcoins not only contributes to its less liquid nature, but has also contributed to higher rates of fraud and theft through uninsured bitcoin exchanges. Also, one should note that none of the bitcoin exchanges have yet established a long business track record.
Where do the price and value of bitcoin go from here?
Unfortunately, no one knows. Many believe, bitcoin could fall anywhere -- from being known as a worthless experiment, to being the greatest disruptive force the financial industry has ever seen.If friends wanted to purchase a small, speculative position in bitcoin, I wouldn't try to talk them out of it. However -- and I cannot stress this enough -- nothing should be invested in bitcoin currency that an investor isn't comfortable losing.

The cute little monkeys at MacRitchie Reservoir
Last weekend I went to MacRitchie reservoir for a morning walk with some friends. Thought we better do some exercise, the bum getting fat again! Anyway, I've not been there for ages. It's as beautiful as before & full of people. Singaporeans seems to have become quite health conscious, that's a good thing.
Then we saw some monkeys. They do not seem to be afraid of people at all.
Then we saw some monkeys. They do not seem to be afraid of people at all.
The one below even "chased" this lady away from the bench! Well not really chase, the monkey just went to sit behind her, for quite a while, before she even realized & got a shock. They don't mean any harm. I saw one drinking from a yakult bottle, so funny. Well if you go there, make sure you hold on to your bag, as it seems they will snatch any bags or plastic bags away, if you just leave it laying on the floor or bench. They'll think it's food. Cute little guys....

Would you pay 38 million dollars for this tiny green bowl?
Had early lunch with the Boss & a few of my other colleagues at Imperial Treasure. The Boss pick up the tiny bowl on the table & ask us how much would we pay for it. Hmmm.... don't know what's he going with this. Anyway, Mike the most savvy among us go like " If this comes from Ming or Song Dynasty, I'm sure it'll cost a fortune !"
Bingo ! He must have know what the Boss was getting at, he always does. He went on to "inform" us how a tiny Song Dynasty bowl has gone under auction for a record US $ 38M. Through Sotheby's auction house naturally.
Yes that's the bowl in the pic above. I know- it doesn't even look remarkable.I have like countless bowls at home that looks better ...lol...
The difference is this little piece is 1,000 yrs old ! It measures 13cm across and is glazed in a blue-green color. The bowl's buyer has chosen to remain anonymous, obviously ...haha... they always do. Bidding began at around $10.2m, and the winning offer - was from a phone bidder. Exactly like how they do it in the movies, so mysterious !
Just look at it, I'm sure it's pretty easy to forged right? The Boss agree, that's why he prefer to invest in wines. Well, that's another hobby too sophisticated for mere mortals like us ...lol... Then all of us went into things we collect. Some were hilarious ...

You have the right to remain silent.
Why do things always happen during & after Parties? Is it because of the
excessive eating & drinking? Last weekend we were invited to a house warming party by one of the senior staff. Big beautiful landed property & lots of food & drinks. I enjoy myself.
As usual we went pretty active on group chat after the celebrations to share pictures & comments. I found out some people are just not meant to do that! I should have sent out a warning like this before things happened:
You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right & post comments that " seemed funny at the time" you will be the target of ridicule until someone else within your social network does something worse."
Yup you guess it. Someone made an insensitive remark about the Boss's secretary in one of the pics & he'll probably live to regret it for the rest of his life in the company ....lol... She's a powerful & influential person, & you don't want to mess with her, no one does. Even our Boss listens to her. She lords over us all ...lol... Good Luck !!!!

Well, we'll call it diversifying ...lol... But who'll buy a rice cooker there? It's just so odd ! Well stranger stuff has happened !

Misa Travel closed , so sad ....
I was shock to read the news of the sudden closure of MISA Travel. Ever since day one, I've been getting my plane tickets & hotel reservations with them. They were always pretty good. Even when I started migrating to online reservations, it's always back to them when it's needed.
Like the recent promotion (flights to Hong Kong ) between DBS & Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong. I bought my tickets to Hong Kong through Misa Travel. Came back end of May & this happened. How sad!!! On one hand I'm sorry for those who were caught stranded with yet to 'fulfilled obligations' from the company, on the other hand, I hated to see a local established company fold. Hope everyone bought insurance.
I for one only buy insurance during the last minute before the trip itself. This really taught me a lesson. Buy it asap, right after booking & paying for anything, in case something like this will to happen again.

Morality in the workplace
Yesterday I caught/witness Corinne putting a bunch of office pens into her Chanel handbag 'again', to be taken home obviously. I guess it's common that many people treats the office as their personal Back To school shopping mall.
But for most employees, moral questions in the workplace are the same as moral questions in life. And in the end, if you wouldn't want your spouse to find out about it, don't do it. If it makes your kids think you are creepy, don't do it. And if it's gonna end with a grainy photo of you posted on Facebook & your name being used as the punch line of a joke about farm animals, don't do it!
And now back to office supplies ...lol... hmmm... that falls into grey area right? Since it wont hurt the multi- billion banking industry even a tiny bit just to 'contribute' to employees' home stationary use, most if not all employees will naturally treat office supplies as part of an entitlement of sorts. After all it's just stationary, I've heard of people taking home toilet rolls ....lol... yes, but never witness it though!

The new guy.
All the senior staff seriously hated this new guy that has joined us a month ago. He's looks as if he's only 20, settles all our techno problems & still has time to clinch big accounts. The Boss even invites him to his pent house to check his system. Yesterday Boss has another problem, calls him, he spend 5 minutes, hits restart, reminds Boss to do updates, & floats out with little wings on his back.
I don't mind him though, yesterday he showed me 1000 ways to utilized my I-phone .. haha....

Please Don't kill yourselves at the Leaning Tower of Pisa !!!
Have you been to Pisa, Italy ? If you have, you will definitely have taken a picture of yourself holding up the famous leaning tower, one way or other. A small group of my friends are there now, I couldn't join them as I've used up all my leave for the year. Anyway they were sending me pictures in 'real time' of themselves in relation to the Leaning tower of Pisa. They were desperately trying to create these images they found online to various degrees of success ....😆😆😆
What happened to them now ???? Let Just say, I'm glad they had travel insurance ...LOL....

Am I a monster ?
Yesterday after work, my colleague Pat came to my place, as she wanted to look at all the stuff I bought online. We bump into my neighbor at the guard house. My neighbor was taking her baby & her dog for a walk. Pat cooed over the baby as I pet the dog. When my neighbor left. Pat asked me,
" Is the baby a boy or girl?" Well I didn't know.
"Do you know the baby's name? "
"No... Her dog's name is Snowy. "
" You're horrible !!!"
Am I? Look I'm not a monster. I like babies for all the obvious reasons. They are cute & soft. They do cute things. And even if they throw or bang spoons & knives in restaurants, poo all the time or cry in the plane, I'm fine with that. I'm not the least bit disturbed as they are not mine. I felt almost desperate to defend my position to my friend as to myself.
Is there something wrong with me?

An update of my Vanquish & Shock Wave treatment
Hi all, have not touch my blog for a while. Time to update on my Vanquish & Shock wave treatment. All went quite well. My tummy has improve like 80%. Well I guess I can't really expect a totally flat tummy due to my lifestyle & age (ahemmm....) . I sit all the time & don't exercise. But it's much smaller & flatter than before, so I'm happy.
I took panbesy & duromine for only for a month. Once the excess fats were removed, I change my eating habits & stay on the Garbaslim fat burner.
I started drinking coffee without sugar. I limited my favorite soft drink to only 1 per day. I used to drink at least 3 per day. Snacks I buy the small packets, no more family size. No fruits either, I noticed I've been eating too much of them, thinking of fiber they provide. But I could get the same fiber from unsweetened vegetables. I eat more spinach, kale, brocoli, cabbage & salads (with little dressing).
The Vitamn D jab has helped to improve my metabolism. I've since shaped up nicely. I've also include Vitamin D supplement in my daily vitamins consumption. I know I'm a little kiasu but I've just reach 30s, need to be more vigilant ! That's all for now!

Tried Vanquish & Shock Wave for my cellulite & fat tummy
It's been eleven days since I started on panbesy, duromine & fat burner garbaslim. I was advised by some online friends not to weigh myself, as it might drive me crazy :). I listen to their 'wisdom' but today as I put on my favorite tight skirt, I notice it's not that tight anymore! Happiness !!!
I do not have a weighing machine, so I drop by Dr Keith's clinic to weigh myself- it's close by. I've gone down by 3kg! Can you imagine???? I'll look perfect if not for my tummy which is a little flabby & FAT !!! The sulky nurse said I should try the Vanquish treatment to get rid of my fats & the shock wave treatment to get rid of the cellulite. I look at her, she might be super grumpy but she's certainly skinny, well... I'm very tempted.
Went in to consult with Dr Keith & he explain further. I wont bored you with the details here, as you can find much information online. In the end I decided to give it a try. Bought both the Vanquish & Shock Wave packages. Told you I'm serious about looking better !!! I did some research online, below are the images they have of the results of Vanquish treatment - pretty awesome right?
The reason I did the Vanquish treatment is because, it's not painful. In the past I've pass on treatments like liposonix etc...as they are very painful. Anyway as they promise , it's not painful just warm feeling, quite soothing. I literally slept for a while. I was so tired! Hope it works.
By the way I bought more fat-burner, Garbaslim for my other colleagues. What to do, we are a bunch of high-pay-non-exercising types of girls ....lol.... !!!

My visit to Dr Keith Ong's clinic for panbesy, duromine & garbaslim
This is June, half the year's gone, fast! I've decided to do something about my weight. Since the beginning of the year, I've gone up ONE size, can you imagine!???? Drastic times calls for drastic measures.
Google for help. These are the blogs I went to : Here & here & here. Guess what, I've decided to Just Do It- today. The online world recommended Dr Keith Ong's clinic for panbesy or duromine. These 2 weight loss pills are supposedly the most effective & famous slimming pills in the market. Some girls have reported losing 1 kg within a day, others around 5 kg within a month! Well that's good enough for me.
Made appointment & was there on the dot! I like to be puncture. Plus this is important. Dr Keith is very friendly. His staff not so ..... Anyway I had prepared a "speech" to explain why I needed these panbesy. But before I even begin, he's already telling me about what can panbesy & duromine do, the side effects etc etc... I was so grateful for that, my speech was kinda 'corny'...anyways. As it turn out everything went better than planned. I was out in a jiffy, with supplies of everything I could get my hands on! I needed results FAST !!! :)
My haul:
-3, 15mg panbesy
-one month supply of 30mg duromine. Was told if come back within 6 months, they will waive consultation fee.
-a bottle of garbaslim , it's a fat burner. (I think I seriously needed this)
-a Vitamin D jab (this is to boost my metabolism, so it's important)
Will review after I see some results, later:)
Oh for those who are interested ,here's the weight loss clinic details:

You are fired !!!!
One of my colleagues Gin was 'ask' to go ...sigh... for
those of you who think that we make lots of money, that's the financial
world for you. No one is safe these days. One day you were raking in
tons & the next you are out! It's like a sudden death.Last month she had a sense of things to come & had ask me, do I think she's next? She wants a big sent off with champagne, if it comes to that. "Buried or cremation", we joked - She didn't care how her being is being disposed of, she said.
Later Gin text me this message: Bury me, freeze me, deep-fry me like KFC & send me to a giant corporate building with a giant corporate sign that reads SCIENCE. Nothing I did here in this company would have any bearing on the path I take in the next one. I sealed my fate 8 years ago when I took up this job! Sealed it & spat on it & locked it in. I never did have much of a sense of direction, but I knew that when I go, I would not be going to any more financial corporations!............ I know she's kinda dramatic, but that's our beloved Gin !!! It could have been me in the future, who knows....
Last night we did give her a big sent off party. What she intend to do now? Well she has a big mortgage, bills to pay, life goes on. She has experience, & many contacts so it might not be that bad. I hope not. She's a good friend.

Life Lessons: The people with the power are never the most useful. Never.
I'm still learning how to function productively as a person, and am
always surprised when things I should already know about how I should live are reaffirmed. So here you go guys, my best tips on the philosophy of living, garnered from 3 decades of haphazard living:
-treat everything like a job. No, not with distain and reluctance, but as if you are getting paid (at least somewhat decently). Including dating, making friends, calling your mother. I am a terrible daughter.
-always take the lead. Group inertia is the worst. People just look around hoping that someone else will tell them what to do, or make the decision. And you rationalize it because, "I'm the most junior" or "I'm new" or whatever. It's dumb, and people will always appreciate it when you make that effort to not be the lemming.
-never stop networking/hustling. A pity, because I really dislike both of these things. Precisely why I avoid sales/marketing jobs as much as I can. But life is about being a greedy little opportunist, while also throwing out tasty bits of bacon whenever you can to attract the other greedy opportunists, who inevitably will have other tasty morsels that they don't like (cheesecake bites, perhaps? or fruit leather?)
-don't ever ignore the "secretary". The people with the power are never the most useful. Never.
yeah that's all i got right now.
